A chilly but but bright morning awaited Peter, Terry and John. Peter hadn't been out for some time and expressed the ambition to visit St. Joseph's tea room in Charnwood Forest.

It was decided to ride out across Garendon Park. This was probably a mistake as work being carried out there had resulted in a very muddy track. However the riders made it through without incident and took Tickow Lane around the back of Shepshed with good views of the autumnal countryside bathed in sunshine to the north.

The riders climbed slowly towards the monastery, taking a couple of "breathers" on the way.

Tea was taken outside in the sunshine, The air temperature was low but there was little wind and the sun provided warmth.

After a rapid return past the Priory pub John went on to the University for an excellent and free lunch time concert - The Cardinal Saxophone Quartet at the Art Cafe, Cope Auditorium on the University Campus.
