The weather was a bit better than anticipated when Jas, Kevin, Eric, Howard, Patrick and John gathered at Outwoods Drive roundabout with some glimpses of the sun. As Patrick's normal bike was out of commission and he was riding his reserve bicycle that lacks low gears, it was decided to follow one of flatter routes down the old A6 to the Methodist Church Hall Tea Room at Birstall. The volunteers there provided their usual excellent value fare and the rider returned via Watermead Park and the canal towpath to Cossington. During the morning the cloud had been increasing and drizzle began to fall as the riders got closer to home. However it was never sufficient to cause them to cape up.
