Ray, Peter, Derek, Terry, Patrick and John arrived at the start on a grey and damp morning. As Peter had come from Mountsorrel it was decided to head north to the village shop at Normanton on Soar. As the riders proceeded north the clouds cleared and they were in bright sunshine by the time they arrived at Nomanton for welcome refreshments.

After coffee Ray wanted to get back while the remainder put in a loop via Long Whatton and West Leake on what was now a very pleasant sunny morning. Unfortunately, due to some confusion about intentions, Peter became split from the group and made his way back independently.
