A beautiful sunny early autumn day saw an excellent turnout. Paul, Jill, Anne, David, Rob, Patrick, John, Phil, Rosalind and Lawrie decided on a shorter ride and headed south. Unfortunately Rosalind was not feeling too well and she and Phil returned home just before reaching Quorn. The remaining riders headed across the Soar to Barrow and then on up Melton Road and Paudy Lane towards Six Hills, turning south west into Berrycott Lane riding downhill ;but into the wind with good view to either side into Seagrave. The riders passed Seagrave Primary School where the childrens play time was drawn to an end by the bell monitor ringing vigorously before descending to Sileby to take refreshments at the Green Place. The group then returned via Mountsorrel arriving back in Loughborough for noon.

Whilst on the longer route we covered pretty much the same ground though not at the same time and via a different route. Seven of us, Pat, Tricia, David, Clyde, Alan, Lyn and myself left Loughborough via the canal towpath and Meadow Lane, cutting across to the A60 and through Walton on the Wolds the back way. Seagrave over the A46 to Thrussington. The deli has had an extension built and now has lots of room plus great coffee and teacakes. Coming back we went through Rearsby, under the A46, then Cossington and Sileby and under the A6 before passing through Mountsorrel and Quorn back to Loughborough.

Anne leads Jill up the hill from Barrow.
