A cold start made some of the riders wonder as to whether or not they should have brought gloves. It was decided to proceed south for an early coffee stop at Quorn,which was fortuitous as while there was a short shower early on, after coffee the sun came through, things warmed up a bit. Ray, Chris, Patrick and John followed the footpath to Barrow and then cycled along the eastern side of the Soar valley to Stanford on Soar, returning via Meadow Lane and the canal path.
