A very dull and clammy mid August morning saw a large turnout of Marcus, Terry, Lyn, Clyde, Patrick, Anne, Derek, Phil, Rosalind, John, Graham and Ian, out for his first ride with the group. Terry led the group out along the cycle path alongside the A6 to Barrow. Unfortunately Rosalind going slowly and avoiding a pedestrian toppled over grazing herself and twisting an ankle. She decided to head for home which was fortunately near by. The rest of the group headed across the Soar at Barrow and then south through Sileby to Cossington, then taking the road towards Rothley before heading north along the old A6 to the Rowena garden centre and freshly baked scones. Ray Clay joined the group for refreshment before the riders headed west to cross Swithland Reservoir dam and the rather rough track to Brand Lane. The riders then continued up Brand Hill to Woodhouse Eave where they viewed Forest Rock and the cave located in the middle of the village before heading for home.
