While still a bit cooler than might have been hoped for the time of year, it was a very pleasant day for a ride with little wind and a little sunshine.

Patrick, Stuart and John headed south across the newly laid tarmac along Cross Hill Lane, past Mucklin Wood to Beaumanor and then on through Swithland and Rothley to Birstall Methodist Chruch Hall, where refreshments were obtained at a very reasonable price.

The riders then returned through Watermead Park using the new Connect2 link to Cossington, passing through Sileby and Mountsorrle before Stuart left them at Quorn to get some further exercise climbing up to the Beacon. Stuart and John continued towards Loughborough and John found that he had a front wheel puncture caused by a thorn at the One Ash roundabout. However he was able to pump it up again and get home before it deflated.
