A cold and very frosty by bright morning awaited Jas, Kevin, Jim, Derek, Patrick, Anne, Terry, John & Clyde. As it had been dry for several days and the light wind was from the north, it was decided to brave the cycle track across Garendon and follow Sustrans route 6 out to Belton. At one point Jas and Kevin stopped to sort out a gear problem and lost contact with the group for a short while. The riders waited in the sunshine on the hill overlooking Belton allowing them to catch up before riding towards Long Whatton via Smithy Lane. The group availed themselves of refreshments at Manor farm and then returned to Loughborogh via Hathern. John, Jas and Kevin took advantage of the free concert at the Cope Auditorium provided by Loughborough Arts and enjoyed an hour long concert from the Tedesca Quartet which played Haydn's String Quartet in Eb Op.64 no.6 and Brahms' String quartet no.1 in C minor Op.51 no.1.
