With most of the regulars on holiday or attending to domestic duties, it was just John and Howard who met up on Wednesday morning. As neither needed to be back promptly and they were feeling fit, it was decided to take on a longer ride than normal. They set off south via Barrow, Seagrave, Thrussington, Rearsby and Gaddesby to Twyford. After climbing the hill refreshments were taken in the Viaduct View Cafe at Holland's Nurseries. Duly refuelled the riders had a swift descent into Queniborough, then on through East Goscote and Sileby, returning to Loughborough for just after 12-30.
