Mashed Rutabaga

Modified from Allrecipes

1 cup water

2 lbs rutabaga, peeled and chopped into 1 inch chunks

1/4 cup half and half (so I didn't measure ANY of this...I just added until it seemed right, much like I make regular mashed potatoes)

1 tbsp butter

3/4 tsp salt

1/4 tsp pepper

1/4 tsp garlic powder

So this had you put your vegetables in the steamer basket, set on the trivet. I don't have a steamer basket. I just put the rutabaga in the water in the bottom of the pot. I used the custom setting on the PC Quick Cooker, this says to use high pressure. It says 8 minutes...I did that, it didn't seem quite done, I did 2 more. So I would suggest 10 minutes.

Drain rutabaga and then you can put back in empty pot or another bowl for mashing.

Add rest of ingredients and mash until consistency you like (you can use an electric beater if you want super smooth).
