Italian Steaks
Modified from Simple & Delicious
1 egg
1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs
1/2 tsp dried basil
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/8 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
4 pieces (4 oz each) sirloin steak [they cut up one larger one, I just used what I had in my freezer]
1 tbsp canola oil
1 cup pizza sauce
1/4 cup shredded Italian cheese blend
Whisk egg in one bowl. In another bowl, combine bread crumbs, basil, oregano, salt and pepper. Take steak pieces and dip in egg and then coat in bread crumb mixture. [I used two pie plates]
In a large skillet, cook steaks in oil over medium-high heat until meat reaches your chosen doneness.
Meanwhile, heat sauce in small saucepan. Spoon over stakes, sprinkle with cheese.
Makes 4 servings.
