Butter Cookies

1 2/3 cups flour

½ cup sugar

½ cup butter

1 egg (I used extra-large, they used large)

1 tsp baking powder

Whisk butter and sugar on high speed until fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.


Add beaten egg and mix to combine. Add flour and baking powder and mix on low speed until flour is incorporated. Roll dough into a ball and wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.


Preheat to 350. Roll dough to quarter inch thickness. Cut into shape you want. I did circles, you can also use a dove for traditional Japanese cookies. Place on baking sheet and cook for 15-20 minutes. Remove from oven and cool.
