Barbecue Burger Deluxe

Modified from 365: No Repeats

1 1/2 lbs hamburger [she used ground sirloin, I used hamburger from the freezer...I also only had about a 1 lb]

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 small onion, half finely chopped and half thinly sliced {to dice I got out the mincer as it is going in the burger)

1/2 tsp liquid smoke

2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tbsp hot sauce [I did NOT use this much...I just put a few drops in]

3 tbsp tomato paste

2 tbsp brown sugar

1 tbsp grill seasoning

Heat grill. Place burger in bowl with garlic and onion and combine. Mix the rest separately in a bowl, then add in and combine it all. Form 4 patties (I did three since I only started with 1 lb). Cook to desired doneness [we definitely had crumbling issues...we aren't used to burgers like this...my fault in making patties, Ray's in cooking...we are both a WIP!]. Can top with cheddar cheese if you like (we didn't).

Serve on rolls with sliced onions. RR also recommends lettuce, tomatoes and steak sauce. I used ketchup, Ray mustard and we did use the onions and were happy.

Serves 4. [so I'd only serve 3].
