Soft Garlic Breadsticks

Modified from Quick Cooking

1 cup plus 2 tbsp water

2 tbsp olive or canola oil

3 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese

2 tbsp sugar

3 tsp garlic powder

1 1/2 tsp salt

3/4 tsp minced fresh basil (1/4 tsp dried)

3 cups bread flour

2 tsp active dry yeast

1 tbsp butte or margarine, melted

In bread machine, put first nine ingredients in order listed by manufacturer. Select dough setting (check dryness). When cycle is done, turn dough onto a floured surface. Divide into 20 portions (or 10 like I did and make really big ones). Shape each into a boll then roll into rope (9 inch). Place on greased baking sheets. Cover and let rise in warm place for 40 minutes or until doubled. Bake at 350 degrees for 18-22 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to wire racks, brush warm breadsticks with butter.
