The Workout: 1-3 x (mile, hill of hills, 800m) with the miles at tempo pace, hill of hills (i.e., 200m hill, 400m hill, 200m hill) at 5K effort, and 800m at tempo pace. The rest after the mile is the jog down the hill plus 30s, after the first two hill efforts is the jog back down the hill, after the last hill effort is 60s, and after the 800m is 60s. This workout targets improving anaerobic threshold, aerobic development, and strength training. It should be conducive to staying engaged and, as such, can provide a good opportunity to focus on a specific component of running (e.g., posture, gaze, staying relaxed).
Tuesday Night Track Club - meets every Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. We will meet this week at Lindley Park. Everyone who chooses to attend TNT is expected to comply with all national, state, and city safety recommendations. Please don't attend if you or someone in your household is feeling sick unless you are fully vaccinated. We are also resuming our end-of-month celebrations. The following week's workouts will typically be posted on Sunday. Tuesday Night Track is free and always open to any adult interested in participating (all levels are welcome!).
