The Workout: 1-2 x 1600 at tempo pace, 2 x 800m at 5K race pace, 400m a little faster than 5K race pace, 1-2 x 800m at 5K race pace, 2 x mile at tempo pace. The rest after the miles is 1 minute, after the 800s is 90 seconds, and after the 400 is 1 minute. This workout focuses on aerobic pacework and mental toughness.
Tuesday Night Track Club - meets every Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. We are currently meeting at the MSU outdoor track through April 1 (we will switch to the trails by Lindley Park April 8th). The following week's workouts will typically be posted on Sunday. Tuesday Night Track is free and always open to any adult interested in participating, and participation can come in the form of an easy run in lieu of the workout.
