The Workout: We will start at 1000m and work down to 100m by 100m drops in distance for each interval. The distances are split into groups of 3 at a time (e.g., 1K, 900m, 800m) with 90s between each interval and 2:30 min between each set. Intervals should start at about 10K race pace and get faster with each one. To add more volume, you can add 2-3 x 1000m at tempo to marathon pace at the beginning. This workout focuses on efficient running and speed.
*Note - Since it is snowing most of the day today, we will head over to the track a little later (3pm) today and might head out again tomorrow at 1pm.
*Second note - if you started a break from structured training last week, it would be good to continue that this week, but you are welcome to attend TNT and run a couple easy miles and cheer on the group working out if you want :)
Tuesday Night Track Club - meets every Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. We will meet at the MSU Track until the trails are snow-free. Everyone who chooses to attend TNT is expected to comply with all national, state, and city safety recommendations. Please don't attend if you or someone in your household is feeling sick unless you are fully vaccinated. The following week's workouts will typically be posted on Sunday. Tuesday Night Track is free and always open to any adult interested in participating (all levels are welcome!).
