The workout: 1-4 x (1600m, 800m) with 75s rest after the 1600m and 90s rest after the 800m followed by 2 x (400m, 200m) with 60s rest after the 400m and 200m. The 1600m should be completed at tempo pace, the 800m at 5K pace; the 400m should be a little faster than 5K pace, and the 200m should be about mile pace. This workout targets aerobic development in the early section and works on speed in the second section and is a good race simulator.
Tuesday Night Track Club - meets every Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. We will meet at the MSU track (workouts will either be on the track or in the football parking lot depending on snow conditions) until April. Bring a headlamp. Everyone who chooses to attend TNT is expected to comply with all national, state, and city safety recommendations. Please don't attend if you are feeling sick, and please wear a face covering if you have knowingly been exposed to SARS-CoV-2. The following week's workouts will typically be posted on Sunday. Tuesday Night Track is free and always open to any adult interested in participating (all levels are welcome!).
