NASA discovered a strange device on the formation of Mercury's surface

The device is able to see the NASA Messenger any objects on the surface of planets, including relatively minor, such as hotels of St. Petersburg, for example. The pictures, which were obtained from the orbit using the apparatus of NASA Messenger, you can see thousands of strange depressions. Depressions are different sizes, from 20 kilometers in diameter. Their depth ranges from 20 to 40 meters.

These unknown origin were apparent formation of a mystery to scientists. According to David Blyuetta from Johns Hopkins University, researchers have always believed that Mercury's surface is constant. However, recorded in the present education seriously violate this theory. This means that the surface of Mercury is still changing. Basin, similar to the recently discovered on Mercury, have previously been identified as the south pole of Mars, in the deposits of dry ice. However, on the Mercury they are located in areas with hard rocky surface.

Why do scientists surprised by this basin on Mercury? The fact that this planet has no atmosphere, and hence there is no winds and rains. This suggests that depression could not be formed due to action of wind or water flows. Scientists theorize that because of its proximity to the Sun, the planet Mercury is extremely hot. And with a sulfur minerals or other substances with similar properties that are suspected of being in the bowels of the planet, when heated evaporate. Which leads to the formation of cavities. But this is just a logical assumption to mind. What exactly was the cause of the depressions, the scientists of today is not known.
