How is a typical day for you?
My routine is very different, it depends a lot on the day of the week, because I teach in several places. For example, on Tuesday and Thursday I give classes in one place, but on Wednesday and Friday, I teach elsewhere. But generally, I wake up early, I eat breakfast and then I go to my gym class, or I'm going to teach early. Then when I can, I go home to lunch. When I can not, usually like in the same street, and I go immediately to another class. On most days of the week, I give classes until early evening and I get home around six at night. After dinner, I watch a little television and go to sleep at 11 o'clock.
Tell me about your weekend, specifically tell me about an event from start to finish.
My friends and I had agreed to go to the beach, but unfortunately it rained a lot in the morning, and in the afternoon we decided to change the program. There is now a new mall, which opened a month ago, so we decided to go and do a program at the mall. Then we went, we lunched, we saw the stores, the shop windows and we went around to see the mall. It was a good program.
What would you advise a person who wants to learn Portuguese in Brazil?
Firstly, a Portuguese student in Brazil should try to enroll in a program that allows him / her to integrate a host family, so that he can have opportunities for communication and interaction in the language constantly. Another important aspect when preparing to study abroad is a positive attitude towards the experience. The student will come across an unknown culture with elements that are different or nonexistent on their own, and the ability to deal with the unknown or the different is essential to the success of a student abroad. Finally, it is imperative that the student take advantage of every opportunity to communicate in the language, that is, not only stay in the room or with the group of friends from the same country, but leave home and meet new places, and get involved with the family hostess.
