What's a typical day like for you?
My routine is very different, depends a lot on the day of the week, because I teach in various places. For example, on Tuesday and Thursday I teach in one place, but on Wednesday and Friday, I teach elsewhere. But usually, I wake up early, have breakfast, and then I go to my gym class, or I'm going to teach early. Then, when I can, I come home for lunch. When I can't, i usually eat on the street myself, and I go immediately after to another class. Most days of the week, I teach until the early evening and come home around 6 pm. Then I'll have dinner, watch some TV and go to sleep at 11:00.
Tell me how your weekend was, specifically tell me about an event from start to finish.
My friends and I had agreed to go to the beach, but unfortunately it rained a lot in the morning, and in the afternoon we decided to change the program. There is now a new mall, which opened a month ago, so we decided to go do a program at the mall. Then we went, we had lunch, we saw the shops, the windows and we took a walk to see the mall. It was a good show.
What would you advise a person who wants to learn Portuguese in Brazil?
First, a Portuguese student in Brazil should try to enroll in a program that allows him to integrate a host family, so that he can have opportunities for communication and interaction in the language constantly. Another important aspect when preparing to study abroad is a positive attitude towards experience. The student will come across an unknown culture, with different or nonexistent elements in his own, and the ability to be able to deal with the unknown or the different is essential to the success of a student abroad. Finally, it is essential that the student enjoys all the opportunities to communicate in the language, that is, not just stay in the room or with the group of friends from the same country, but leave the house and meet new places, and get in the way of the host family.
