Tell me about your morning routine?
I live in a small apartment in the city center with my father's husband, with my seven year old daughter Ella and my son Or who turned three months old yesterday. We also have a small poodle dog. My father usually wakes up first. He is always busy, not resting for a moment. He goes down with the dog for a short walk, organizes himself, makes us breakfast and sandwiches for lunch and even manages in between to raise some status with a family photo or tweet something political. I always wake up upside down after a sleepless night because light wakes up every three hours. I breastfeed Or, wake Ella, dress her and make her a ponytail. The caregiver usually arrives at the last minute and is out of breath. It stresses us all out. My father does not have a license so I drive and drop him off at the office and those at school and drive to work.
I heard you went on a trip to the United States last summer. How was? Tell me about an interesting or unusual case on a trip.
It was at the end of the trip. I took a taxi to the airport and a second after the taxi left I found out that the bag with the cell phone, credit cards, passport and cash remained in the taxi ... I had no idea what the taxi number was or what the name of the taxi company was. I did not know what to do. I was in utter despair. I went to El Al's reception and told them what had happened. The clerk was nice and friendly but said he could not do anything, without a passport I could not travel. He called two taxi companies and left them a message. I was sure there was no chance. The driver does not know me and I will fly away in a moment, why would he bother to find me and return my phone and hundreds of dollars in cash? Then, a miracle happened. The driver showed up and said he had been looking for me for more than half an hour and had already been to the counters of all the airlines. I could not believe that there are such people! I gave him some of the dollars as a gift. He deserved it! Joy and kindness I boarded the flight, can't believe how lucky I was. All is well that ends well. The family welcomed me at home with a welcome return and I immediately told them about my adventure.
What's new in your association? What are the issues that concern you these days?
We are currently focusing on assisting refugees and asylum seekers in Israel. In recent months the number of requests for help has increased dramatically and we are busy with work. The good news is that public awareness of refugee problems has also risen. The number of volunteers who joined us has doubled and this year we were able to double the number of donations. People turn to us and ask how we can help and this is definitely an important and encouraging development and a trend that I hope will continue and strengthen. I am pleased to report that we were able to offer some support and legal assistance and assistance to most of the asylum seekers who contacted us. We currently also have a wonderful president who has brought a new spirit to the organization and made important connections with government officials and with donors from all over the world. Personally, I am very satisfied with the job. Our activities are important and necessary and this also has an impact on labor relations. There is a good atmosphere in the office and a sense of cooperation and dedication to the goal.
