Tell me about your morning routine?
I live in a small apartment downtown with my father's husband, my seven-year-old daughter and my son, a light that he had three months last night. We also have a little poodle dog. My father usually wakes up first. He's always busy, not resting for a moment. He goes down with the dog for a short trip, organizes himself, makes us breakfast and sandwiches for lunch, and even manages to raise some status with a family photo or tweet something politically. I wake up always in reverse after a sleepless night that light wakes every three hours. I'm breastfeeding the light, waking these, dressing her up and making her coco. The caregiver usually comes at the last minute and no breath. It makes us all nervous. My father does not have a license so I drive and drop him off at the office and the school and go to work.
I heard you traveled to the United States last summer. How was it? Tell me about an interesting or unusual case on the trip.
It was at the end of the trip. I took a taxi to the airport and a second after the taxi drove, I found out that the bag with the phone, credit cards, passport, and cash remained in the taxi... I had no idea what the taxi number was or what the name of the taxi company was. I didn't know what to do. I was in total despair. I went to El Al's front desk and told them what had happened. The clerk was nice and friendly but said he couldn't do anything without a passport I can't travel. He called two taxi companies and left them a message. I was sure there was no chance. The driver doesn't know me, and I'm a minute from here, why would you bother finding me and returning my phone and hundreds of dollars in cash? Then, the miracle happened. The driver appeared and said that he had been looking for me for over half an hour and already had enough to be at all the airlines ' counters. I didn't believe there were such people! I gave him some of the bucks. He deserved it! Joy and goodness I went up to the flight, I can't believe how lucky I was. Happy ending, all good. The family greeted me at home with a welcome back and I immediately told them about my adventure.
What's new in your organization? What are the topics that are hiring you these days?
We are currently focusing on the assistance of refugees and asylum seekers in Israel. In recent months, the number of requests for help has increased dramatically and we are busy working. The good news is that the public awareness of refugees ' problems also arose. The number of volunteers who joined us has doubled and we succeeded in multiplying the number of donations this year. People turn to us and ask how we can help, and this is certainly an important and encouraging development and a tendency that I hope will continue to become stronger. I am happy to report that we have been able to offer some support and legal assistance to our asylum seekers who have contacted us. We now have a wonderful president who has brought a new spirit to the Amuta and has established important ties with government officials and donors from all over the world. Personally, I'm very pleased at work. Our activities are important and necessary, and it also affects the work relations. There is a good atmosphere in the office, and a sense of cooperation and devotion to the goal.
