Catherine the Great led an amazing paddle around Stumpy Lake. The sights were spectacular due to the plentiful bald cypress and tupelo trees. Strange blobs in the water turned out to be freshwater bryozoans. Birds included bald eagles, great blue herons, great egrets, green herons, belted king fishers, double-crested cormorants, laughing gulls, and more. The golf club house staff handled our lunch efficiently and economically. I continue to be amazed and grateful that Catherine has been so game to lead adventures having been a Tuesday Group member for less than a year! Wow. Thanks, Catherine!
