First Landing to Rudee Inlet 4-21-15

What a beautiful day for a Tuesday Group bike ride. Started behind the Food Lion at Shore Drive and Great Neck Road in Virginia Beach. After the needed "rest stop" at the Visitors' Center in First Landing State Park, the group divided into two groups. One group rode the Cape Henry Trail through First Landing Park. The second rode the bike path along Shore Drive and Atlantic Avenue. After re-uniting at the 64th Street exit from the park, the group rode down the Virginia Beach boardwalk to Rudee Inlet. There were a couple of unexpected detours. One for road work and one for demolition of the beachfront Cavalier Hotel. Following a rest stop at Rudee Inlet we returned by the same routes. After the ride, 33 bikers gathered for lunch at C. P. Shuckers. We think we set a Tuesday Group record today. 41 bikers!!! Must have been a combination of "cabin fever", "spring fever" and the beautiful weather! 20-22 mile round trip, depending on the route taken.
