Tuesday's Cap Bike Trail ride was cancelled for rain so Bruce and I rode 28 miles around Western Suffolk. Click on the link to see Bill's pictures: https://photos.app.goo.gl/bpcEXJjGS4mCnEc88
Tuesday Groupers 28-mile Bike Ride in and around Suffolk on Tuesday with no rain after we started at 9:30 A.M. There was a little rain on the drive up to the Hardees where Bill and I had our Breakfast at 8:45 A.M. but nothing at all on the bike ride. The sun came out for about 2 minutes around 10:30 A.M. just to let us know that it was still up there. The weather was perfect for the 28-mile bike ride as you can see in Bill's pictures of us in shirt sleeves riding there in Western Suffolk. After about 2.5 miles my bike started being hard to pedal, Bill and I looked at the brakes, the chain, and the sprocket but couldn't see anything wrong with it, just a little rust that was on the chain. I pedal for another 2 miles and thought I would have to turn back as we stopped to get a drink of water and a Fig Newton, and I said, " it would be nice if I had some oil to put on the chain" Bill said "I have some in my pack", so we put some on the chain and it worked great the rest of the ride. I found out even a little rust can slow you down and will have a can in my pack from now on. I gave Bill a Fig Newton and wish I had 2 or 3 more to give him after he pull out that oil can. We saw some beautiful homes and farmland with lot of Black Angus Cows, Cottonfields, deserted R. R. tracks and two tracks that was still in operation as a train was going by as we got to the overpass, I had told Bill we would see a train as we biked through the little tunnel under the track, but the train was running late, because of rain, somewhere, but as we reach the overpass the train went roaring by as you can see in Bill's pictures. The group of 2 was small but we had a great ride on a beautiful day.
