Twenty-five paddlers had a great day on the water near Pungo as we covered seven miles on Muddy Creek, Ashville Bridge Creek and Back Bay. Highlights included a glassy section through a beautiful cypress swamp, reaching the Lotus Pond on Sandbridge Road and expansive views on the north end of Back Bay. This was a first time route for most of the group and everyone was impressed with the beautiful scenery on a perfect Fall day. A picnic lunch followed on a sunny, grassy lawn, followed by ice cream at Pungo Pizza & Ice Cream. Many thanks to Blue Pete’s Restaurant for generously allowing us to launch from their shoreline. There was discussion of an afternoon return trip to this spot finishing in time for a happy hour and dinner at the restaurant.

Thanks for a glorious paddle, Steve! I've never paddled this one before and have wanted to for years!

Thanks Steve for leading a new paddle for the Tuesday Group. Thanks also for arranging access for us at Blue Pete's on a day they are closed.
Great turnout!
Bruce was a big help launching the fleet!
