Ft. Monroe Hike – March 4, 2025 Marti
Sunny skies, light winds, mild temps and 37 folks ready to explore Ft. Monroe equals another great day for the Tuesday Group. We walked through the historical fort along the upper ramparts, reading headstones from the pet cemetery & looking out across the HRBT construction area and over to Cape Henry. Exiting the fort, we walked north on the Seawall Boardwalk up to Paradise Club then around to Dog Beach and the Campground then back onto the Seawall Boardwalk going south to the Gazebo by The Chamberlain. We got our lunches from our vehicles. Most of us ate in the Old Point Comfort Yacht Club Clubhouse. As a special treat, Ellis and I had a Traditional King Cake from a bakery in New Orleans in recognition of Mardi Gras. Vic got the baby baked into the cake so he should have a year of good fortune. LAISSEZ LES BONS TEMPS ROULER! LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL!

Marti had a well organized six mile walk around Historic Fort Monroe with a special venue for lunch afterwards. The weather was wonderful and we had a good crowd that generally behaved!
