Queen's Creek Paddle 8/4/2015
The Tuesday Group paddled Queen's Creek,
Though the heat index looked rather bleak.
The breeze kept us cool,
As we paddled like fools,
"Twas a good way to start off the week.
We floated to the York with the tide,
The way back over waves we did ride,
The wind blocked all our strokes,
But we're pretty tough folks,
And soon into Queen's Creek we arrived!
We saw egrets and heron galore,
Over our heads the osprey did soar,
Some tried to get close
To the Camp Peary coast,
"KEEP OUT!" yelled the signs on the shore.
Up the creek our boats glided along,
Our paddles could not steer us wrong
The blades made a tune,
On this ideal afternoon
As we listened to summer's sweet song.
