We had perfect weather and a great paddling team to make this epic 15 mile paddle down the Nottoway River.
The Village at Woods Edge worked with us to shuttle us back from Dockside and to provide us a great lunch at our stop at the Bronco Club. Thanks, Fran for looking after us!

Before we started paddling, I provided fresh limes to everyone so no one got scurvy on the long trip.
All nine of us completed the trip!
We met at Hercules ramp at 7:30 AM and took out at Dockside at 4 PM. Then we drove to Serve Restaurant and Taphouse in downtown Franklin for a celebratory dinner.
To prepare for the Epic Trip I met with Franklin's Chief of Emergency Services Vernie Francis. I wanted to make sure he knew we would be on the river Tuesday. I told him some of the paddlers were almost as old as me (80). He reviewed the procedure for providing location latitude and longitude information in case the coast guard had to be called in.
Most of the pictures in my Tuesday album have captions. Be sure to look for the tree climbing turtle! I have never seen a turtle climb that far above the water.
