We had one of the best Triathlon ever, with 14 Tuesday Groupers, and five of them were newbies. The weather was great up until the last 5 miles and we had a little rain, but we were almost back to our vehicle, so it wasn't a big deal. The Bay water was so smooth with just a little breeze blowing, you can see in Bill's pictures. Everyone paddled except Carl because of his back, he doesn't want to take a chance. We paddled all the way to False Cape landing this year and I even use one of the sit on Kayaks, I found out it so much easier to get in and out, with my bad Knee. We started at 9:35 A.M. and got back at 3:30 P.M. We saw 3 Eagles, one Cottonmouth, and 3 or 4 Great Blue Herons, and maybe 6 Egrets. I had a little contest for them on the Hiking part of the 18th Annually Triathlon, they had to look for an orange ribbon tied around a tree, and Melanie P. found it and won a fabulous prize, a Flashlight W battery’s and it worked great, she was so happy to win on her very first time doing the Triathlon. Ellis, I know you would have been upset if you had been there because when we got to the VC for ice cream, the VC was closed, with no one around. No ice cream for us Tuesday Groupers today. We had Bill B., Catherine F., Dan F., Ed K., (Catherine Brother) Debbie S., Steve L., Carolyn S., Sherri Mc Q., Kevin M., Richard T., Carl A., Melanie Potter (the contest winner) Margaret J., and yours truly Bruce J.
Everyone be ready for next year, for the 19th Annually Triathlon and if the knees whole out and a little help from the Good Lord I will be there, I am shooting for at least 20 years.
