Spectacular weather made for a spectacular paddle on this day. Sunshine and temperatures in the 60s made for a stunning day, despite a bit of a headwind at the start! Paddling today were Bruce J, Bruce D, Bruce G (3 Bruces!), Jack and Jill, Henry, Kevin, Steve L, Sherri, Sandy, Richard, and Phyllis. We made use of the new (free) kayak launch/floating dock at the James City County Marina for our round trip journey of ~6 miles. Favorable tide, full moon, and wind all combined to create an extremely high water level allowing us to paddle through what is usually marshy bends in the creek. We were also able to follow the creek farther inland than we've ever gone before. Some voyageurs made it to the hiking bridge on the Powhatan Creek Trail (off of the Capital Trail). After returning to the marina, we all convened at the Billsburg Brewery for lunch (and a brew). Another priceless day with the Tuesday Group!
