Mal Higgins just better watch out. The Tuesday Group’s farm walk-about on Tuesday, January 19, braved temperatures in the mid to high 20’s which were almost as low as those Mal and his hearty souls brave up north on TATC’s annual Frezeree!!!
But though the Tuesday Group did not have quite the low temperatures or the deep deep snows always shown in TATC’s Frezeree pictures, you can see from Bill Billings’ pictures accompanying this report, that we had many other things to brag about throughout our hike.
We had “wild” animals eating right out of our hands, we were able to get up and very close to “wild” foul, high places were no match against Bruce’s climbing abilities, our brave guard dogs were able to accompany and protect us throughout the hike, and just when we thought we’d have to construct an igloo for protection during lunch from the bitter cold winds, the Tuesday Group happened upon Heavenly Waters, a Youth Camp and Christian Retreat. There, in the middle of fields and surrounded by woods, we were graciously welcomed into the facility by the hosts who not only offered warm, lovely dining areas for our lunch but later gave us a wonderful tour throughout their beautiful country home and its facilities, all available to rent for youth, families and groups seeking a place of peace.
We hated having to leave such luxury but we had another reason to hurry on, that being the ice cream social awaiting each and every one back at the Big Belly Hunt Club.
If you have never participated in a Tuesday Group adventure, perhaps this report just might tempt you to join us on one or more. At least you know we do not hike in temps as low or snow as high as on Mal’s Frezeree. But, that said, there isn’t much that stops the Tuesday Group from enjoying life each and every week.
