Apparently for First Landing State Park, "three's a charm"! After having an earlier hike scheduled for First Landing cancelled because of snow and ice ... and then a bike ride cancelled because of rain ... the "weather gods" finally smiled upon us. Fourteen eager bikers gathered to bike through First Landing, then down Oceanfront Avenue, and finally on the Virginia Beach boardwalk to Rudee Inlet ... and back ... for a total of 22 miles. The group did split up with some biking the Cape Henry Trail through First Landing, while others chose to ride the bike lane along Shore Drive. The ride was uneventful ... except for one biker who had a flat tire ... then found that his spare tube was also bad. Thankfully, Vic Pisone had a spare tube ... repairs were made ... the two groups came back together ... and the ride was completed. Eleven of the fourteen bikers then retired to C. P. Shuckers for lunch. Beautiful sunny, warm weather!
