Parable of the Rich Fool

Parable of the Rich Fool: Luke 12. 16-21

There once was a fool on a hill. (LENNON-McCARTNEY) who was a real big spender!

He would sing:“If I were a rich man, ya ha deedle deedle, bubba bubba deedle deedle dum.” (SHELDON HARNICK AND JERRY BOCK)  and all he thought about was money, money, 

money, in a rich man’s world. (ANDERSSON, BENNY GORAN BROR / ULVAEUS, BJOERN K. / KORTNEV, ALEKSEJ ANATOLEVICH)

But he was all lies and jest . . . still a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest!) (SIMON AND GARFUNKEL)

But what he didn’t realize was that he was but a candle in the wind. (ELTON JOHN)

Could he not see that the words of the prophet are written on the subway walls and tenement halls? (SIMON AND GARFUNKEL)   No, he could not.

“Fame!” he cried. “I’m gonna live for ever!”. (IRENE CARA) “ I’ll eat drink and be merry! (NORMA JEAN)

 “Fools!” said I,  “you do not know,”  said God. (SIMON AND GARFUNKEL) “The hourglass is empty and the time’s up!” (MAILE, MAIKE HAINI )  It’s too late to  “believe in yesterday!”. (LENNON-McCARTNEY)

The conclusion?  Time can bring you down, time can bend your knees! ( ERIC CLAPTON)  See how he ended by making all his nowhere plans for nobody? ”. (LENNON-McCARTNEY)

And so, he was buried along with his name, nobody came.  Father Mckenzie, wiping the dirt from his hands as he walks from the grave, observed that No-one was saved!
