Temptation

(Resource Pack 16)                                                                            KEY STAGE 2 &3

VISUAL AID:  Devil mask and angel puppet                                                                            

Invite two children/people  to represent

 1)the voice of temptation (devil)and

 2) the voice of what is good and true (angel puppet).  

A third child/person represents the one being tempted and stands in the middle.

Each section opens with the leader reading out a commandment/or good advice.

This is followed by the voice of  the devil, and then the angel responds. The child who is being tempted

keeps turning his/her head as though listening carefully to each voice.

e.g. Leader: THOU SHALT NOT STEAL

Devil: That purse could be yours if you just slip it into your pocket right now

Angel: Oh my goodness no, what would your parents say?

Devil: Who’s going to tell them? They’ll never know.

Angel: God will know. He sees everything.

Devil: But just think how much money there might be in there, and what you could spend that money on.

Angel: But it isn’t yours, and if you are caught you’ll be known as a thief. Your reputation is important is it not?

Devil: So is that ***game ?*** you’ve been wanting.

Angel: Just walk away, and you’ll be able to hold your head high…
