**SMOKED MEATS** CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE - CHECK BACK SOON
We visited Punta Gorda in Feb of 2011 in order to check out family property. Its a lot about 2 miles from the bay that dad bought from uncle Bill back in the 60's. It was originally developed as a huge tract with thousands of homes but only the lots with water were ever developed. It is in an area they refer to as no mans land.
We checked with local real estate agents and found the property was part of an endangered species area which has reeked havoc to local property values. In 2011 The property on Ryder St had no utilities, but power was very close with an adjoining neighbor also having well water and a septic system.
My brother and I stayed in nearby Port Charlotte at the Wyvern, a sleek botique hotel with a rooftop pool. Seafood is king down there with a good lots of places to dine and drink.
