A riff on the Paloma, Mexico's most beloved cocktail.
SERVINGS: MAKES 1
Kosher salt
Chili powder
grapefruit wedge
grapefruit soda
1 oz fresh grapefruit juice
1 oz fresh lime juice
1/4 oz agave
2 oz Mezcal
Pour some kosher salt and a little chili powder on a plate. Rub half of rim of an iced or frosted highball glass with grapefruit wedge; dip half the rim of glass in salt mixture.
Combine mezcal, grapefruit juice, lime juice, and agave in a shaker with ice. Shake well and pour over ice in salted highball glass and top off with grapefruit soda, stir. Garnish with grapefruit wedge.
