This is the real deal, simple delicious red sauce. Easy to make, it just takes a little time. Great over pasta or in with lasagna you cant go wrong here. This is that essence of simple Italian cooking and deserves a setting with drama at any Sunday dinner.
Ingredients:
4- 6oz cans tomato paste
2- 28oz cans whole tomatoes
3 cups water
1 tsp crushed garlic
1 med onion diced
1/4 cup good red wine
1 tbsp Italian seasoning blend
salt and pepper to taste
Preparation:
sauté garlic and onions in a little olive oil until lightly browned
add tomatoes and tomato paste and remaining ingredients
simmer for at least 4 hours, partially covered, stirring occasionally.
