**SMOKED MEATS** CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE - CHECK BACK SOON
The classic Korean BBQ so famous for its sweet smokey flavor. Start with the marinade and make sure you let the beef marinade overnight. I like to finish it on a small charcoal grill. Its more enjoyable if you have a hibachi grill so everyone can grill their own.
Make some special quick pickled condiments ahead for a fabulous finish, see carrots, cucumbers and hot chili peppers below.
Ingredients
3/4 cup soy sauce
3/4 cup brown sugar
5 cloves garlic crushed
1 inch piece of fresh ginger grated on a microplane
1 tbsp sesame oil
3/4 cup apple or pear juice
2-3 green onions - finely chopped
1 teaspoon pepper
1 pound beef, thinly sliced
condiments such as kimchi, chopped green onions, carrots, cucumbers, hot chili pepper(see below)
Preparation
Mix the soy, brown sugar and apple or pear juice in a small sauce pan. Warm over low heat until the sugar melts. Allow to cool and stir in the remaining ingredients.
Mix the marinade into meat, making sure all the meat is covered.
Cover and refrigerate the beef overnight.
Once the meat has been refrigerated, we like to grill it, broil it, or stir-fry the beef until it is well-done and caramelized on the outside.
Serve the beef with rice, additional chopped scallions, and side dishes such as kimchi. Carrots peeled and julienne cut (or shredded) and seeded cucumber, cut in 1in sticks- soaked in apple cider vinegar for at least 2 hours, then drained. Hot pepper sliced into small pieces
