The Perfect Dirty Martini, shaken not stirred. If you look closely you will see what experienced bar tenders call skating. The drink is shaken vigorously (30-60) seconds until tiny ice crystals come out and "skate" on the surface. But enough about olympic sports.
The ingredients in this drink are so simple and it is so easy to make it really good. All you need is a good shaker, good vodka, dry vermouth your favorite stuffed olive.
About the olive, we like blue cheese stuffed olives. I typically do these myself because the ones you can buy for some reason use the hard style blue cheese. This is unacceptable for the perfect dirty. If you want to go here buy the semi-soft blue such as Roquefort, Stilton or Danish Blue. We also like the pitted Castelvetrano olives. Cut off a small piece of the blue and roll it into a football shape and pop it into the olive. You'll get the hang of it after a couple but the cheese should just fill the cavity and be level with the top of the olive. Always make extra. They wont last more than a few days in the fridge.
4oz good vodka, Haku, Dry Fly, Stoli, Titos or equal
1 bar spoon (1/2 tsp) Dry Vermouth
2 splash olive brine
splash of water
Fill the shaker with ice and add the vodka first followed by the other ingredients. Shake, shake, shake, for at least 30 seconds. Strain into frosted martini glasses. Enjoy responsibly.
