A simple recipe that makes a nice spicy hummus. Not quite as smooth as Carols Fabulous Hummus but much easier and quicker.
2 cans chickpeas, liquid reserved
1 tsp toasted and ground cumin seed +/- to taste
3/4 cup tahini
juice of 2 lemons
1 drop liquid smoke
2 drops lousiana hot sauce
1 tsp crushed red pepper
1 bulb garlic roasted (skins removed)
1 tsp salt
olive oil
cayenne to taste
Process all ingredients, adding reserved liquid until smooth, about 5 minutes.
Shape a small indention in middle and add some crushed red pepper and olive oil on top.
Serve with Baked Pita Chips.
