From cool Summer Rolls to tasty Sushi Rice and Rolls we love to make sushi. For us "Sushi" is just a generic term for this type of meal. To be more specific there are many different types of sushi rolls, some vegetarian, some with cooked ingredients, some raw. Maki-Sushi, Rice on the inside, Nori on outside. Ura-Maki which some people call inside-out with Rice on the outside and Nori on the inside. Then theres Sashimi, simply, fresh, raw fish, sliced about 1/4 in thick or cubed depending on the fish. Then Nigiri, which is Sashimi placed on a small mound of prepared rice.
If you're new to Sushi, a California roll is a safe place to start. No fish, but the concept of the seasoned sticky rice and crunchy vegetables is established. Often dipped in soy sauce that is seasoned with a dab of Wasabi, this is entry level and enough to get you hooked.
Our favorite rolls include the Spider Roll which is a deep fried soft shell crab rolled into your favorite wrapper and served with eel sauce or a sweet and spicy chili sauce.
Of course good Wasabi and premium soy sauce are necessary with all sushi. Wasabi is a cousin to horseradish and can be very spicy, but it is different heat than say for instance, a chili pepper.
