One of our favorite sushi rolls. The rich, tender tuna, marinated in a spicy soy marinade. This roll can be taken a lot of different ways. It is simple to make being mostly only tuna. You could add a texture, such as carrots or possibly watermelon radish. Another sauce is always good too.
Ingredients
Sushi grade Ahi tuna
Soy Sauce
Chili Oil
Garlic Powder
Prepared Sushi rice
Black sesame seeds
Sriracha sauce
Mayonnaise
Optional ingredients
Carrots
Cucumber
Avocado
Watermelon Radish
Sauces and Condiments
Wasabi
Soy sauce
Sweet Chili Sauce
Preparations
Slice the tuna in 1/2in x 1/4in strips and place in bowl.
Add 2 tbsp premium soy sauce, 1/4 tsp garlic powder and 1 tsp chili oil. Toss well and marinade while making the Sushi Rice (about an hour). Toss once while in refrigerator.
Prepare any additional ingredients, thinly sliced carrots, cucumber etc. (all optional).
Spicy Mayo
Mix about 2 tbsp mayonnaise and 1 tbsp sriracha in a small bowl
Preparations - Roll
Prepare the roll inside out, (uramaki) style.
Sprinkling the roll with with black sesame seeds.
Slice the roll and arrange on platter placing a small dollop of Sriracha and or Wasabi on each piece.
