Crazy delicious when done right. The cornbread will make little cups with crispy edges and chewy insides.
1/2 C Martha White Hot Rise Cornmeal
buttermilk
hot water
Oil for frying
Preheat 1/2 to 3/4" of oil in a small stock pot on medium heat
Add enough buttermilk to make a thin batter
Consistency should be about like thick paint.
Drop out a tablespoon at a time into the hot oil.
Fry the batter until brown on both sides.
