Tommy's Pickles
Tommy's Pickles
Many thanks to our good friend Tommy Crane for sharing his sweet and tangy pickle recipe. Super simple to make, no canning involved. Next time I go to Costco I'll probably get a gallon jug!
We like the Mt Olive but any brand would do. Just make sure they are dill and not sweet dill.
"After pickles are gone I reuse mixed juice with fresh pickles and add the 3 ingredients as needed. Very easy and everyone loves them." Any pickle juice can also be used as a marinade for poultry.

Ingredients
32oz Jar of dill chips
3 tbsp Lousiana Hot Sauce
1 tpsp minced garlic
1 cup sugar
Preparation
Buy an ordinary 32 oz bottle of dill chips. Empty vinegar from pickle jar to a bowl-to be re-used. In pickle jar add 1 cup sugar, 1 spoon minced garlic and 3 spoons of La. Hot sauce(or Tabasco).
Add vinegar back in but leave enough room to shake very well, then enough to cover pickles. Leave in refrigerator 24 hrs-may need to shake several times for sugar to dissolve.
If you get industrious, Costco sells gallon of dill chips for $4.99. Add 5 cups sugar, 1/4 cup hot sauce and 2 tablespoons of minced garlic.
Many Thanks to Tommy Crane for recipe
