My dad used to make this dip from cream cheese and we used to love it!It was so thick you had to use Fritos because normal chips were just no match. They never really had a written recipe so it kind of just got lost.
I found this recipe almost thirty years after my pop passed away our friend Patte put some out as an appetizer. I was like WOW! That’s just like my dad used to make. She related how her mom used to make the same dip.
So we call it Momma's Down Home Dip because it takes you back home and brings back some of those good memories.
1 pkg cream cheese, room temp
Fine Grated onion
Worcestershire sauce
Tabasco
Catsup
Season salt
Let cream cheese get to room temperature
Add remaining ingredients and mix well.
Chill for a couple of hours.
Serve with Fritos dippers or other heavy chip.
