S'mores Bars
Make sure to use a greased spoon--makes it MUCH easier!! I made these with cinnamon graham crackers and they were yummy! Also, I melted my own marshmallows in the microwave to make the marshmallow creme (10 seconds, stir, 10 seconds, stir, 10 seconds, then added some light corn syrup).
INGREDIENTS:
1/2 c. butter, softened
3/4 c sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/3 c flour
3/4 c graham cracker crumbs
1 tsp baking powder
1/8 tsp salt
5 milk chocolate bars (1.55 oz each)
1 c marshmallow creme (1 7 oz jar)
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
2. Add egg and vanilla; beat well.
3. Combine the flour, cracker crumbs, baking powder and salt; gradually add to the creamed mixture. Set aside 1/2 c for topping.
4. Press remaining dough into a greased 9-inch pan. Place candy bars over crush; spread with marshmallow creme. Crumble remaining dough over top. Sprinkle with chocolate chips if you want more chocolateyness.
5. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Store in an airtight container.
MAKES: 1- 1 1/2 dozen (depends on how big the pieces are. For an 11x15-inch pan, double the recipe and add one additional chocolate bar to cover.
