"My doctor told me to quit throwing dinner parties for 4 unless there are 3 other people - [sigh]" - Gramps
I HAD NO IDEA THIS WAS CALLED MONKEY BREAD UNTIL I MARRIED BRETT... I STILL DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT IT HAS TO DO WITH A MONKEY. THIS IS A BOREN-FAMILY-CHRISTMAS-MORNING TRADITIONAL FOOD. WE RARELY HAVE IT ANY OTHER TIME OF THE YEAR, WHICH IS PROBABLY A GOOD THING, SINCE IT IS DEFINITELY A SUGARY TREAT.
From the kitchen of: Grandma T. (Katie's Grandma)
INGREDIENTS:
1 pkg Rhodes frozen dinner rolls (or you can freeze your own roll dough)
1 pkg butterscotch pudding mix - NOT INSTANT, NOT SUGAR FREE (3oz)
1/2 C butter
1/2 C brown sugar
INSTRUCTIONS:
Grease large bundt pan generously.
Place frozen rolls evenly into pan.
Sprinkle pudding mix over evenly (some people also sprinkle nuts in...)
Melt the butter and sugar together until sugar dissolves.
Pour over rolls in pan and cover with plastic wrap.
Let rise on the kitchen counter over night (6-8 hours... I did this for a full 8 hours once, and they were huge!)
Bake at 350ºF for 30-35min.
MAKES: However many are in a package...
