"My doctor told me to quit throwing dinner parties for 4 unless there are 3 other people - [sigh]" - Gramps
Drumsticks were on sale buy one get one free, so I bought some. I'd never made drumsticks before, so I looked around and found this recipe. It's yummy! So moist and fast to cook. If you're looking to try something new, this might be a fun recipe to try. I served them with some tater tots and cooked carrots. Fun different meal for us.
From the kitchen of: http://meaningfulmama.com/30-minute-garlic-broiled-chicken-legs.html
8 chicken legs (I made 10 since that's how many were in the package)
1/2 c butter
1/4 c chopped garlic
3 Tbsp soy sauce
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 Tbsp ground ginger (I used the ginger paste I had in the fridge)
1/2 Tbsp basil
Preheat oven broiler and line a jelly roll pan with foil. (I used a regular cookie sheet since I don't have a jelly roll pan, and it was perfect.)
In a microwave safe bowl, mix the butter, garlic, soy sauce, salt, ginger and basil. Cook 2 minutes on high in the microwave, or until butter is melted.
Dip chicken in mixture and then arrange on pan. Reserve remaining liquid for basting.
Broil 20 minutes in preheated oven following this pattern: 5 minutes on top rack, 5 minutes on medium rack, turn & baste, 5 minutes on top rack, 5 minutes on medium rack.
At this point I checked it with the meat thermometer and it wasn't quite to 165 degrees, so I put it in my oven at 425 for 5 more minutes, and it came out perfect. (I also made 10 drumsticks instead of 8, so maybe that affected the cooking time.)
MAKES: 8-10 drumsticks, or as many as you are making!
